About

When “Do it Yourself” means just that!

We are David and Bethany. We live in a renovated home with our kids, Luke and Carla. We love doing things ourselves, whether it’s crafting or reroofing the house.

David is an inventor, engineer, tinkerer, handyman extraordinaire! He spends his free time dreaming up new projects for us to tackle together. He loves coming up with innovative solutions that help people get more out of life while being eco-friendly at the same time.

Bethany is a painter, a crafter, a gardener, and a nature lover. She is inspired by the seasons and loves to create art that compliments our home all year round.

Besides playing with Carla and Luke, she loves spending time outdoors in nature, taking walks or collecting flora for her flower garden. She’s also an avid photographer who enjoys learning all about different types of art.

We started this blog as a way to keep our family and friends updated on the latest projects we were working on around the house, but it’s grown a little bigger than that – as we try to answer common questions we get on everything from nail guns to composting toilets!

We hope that you enjoy HousePractical, the blog where we share our favorite DIY projects, tips and tricks for keeping a happy home, and reviews of tools and products that we use ourselves.

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” – William Morris
